Busy weeks...

Hi again!

The two last weeks have been busy and emotionally challenging. Two of the students in our class had to leave the school because they engaged in a relationship outside of the school rules. The process has been long and tiring for all of us. One of the students was supposed to be joining in our outreach team. We're sad they have to leave but also relieved that a decision is made.

We've had a lot of good teaching last week about how to make communities develop and this week about the father heart of God. I have opened my eyes for the responsibility we have as Christians to be reconcilers between individuals and people groups. It's not something we should just leave to politicians and UN! I've also received a new name: "My child, my son, loved one". We're created to have a relationship with our heavenly Father!

Last week we met the reality of our neighborhood community through a 13-year old that is joining the teenagers work we have wednesdays. She was abused by a member of the family she lives in and was thrown out of the house for a while. Her mother left her when she was born. Just some weeks ago, her mother took contact with her and they met for the first time since birth. We don't what is going to happen with her and feel quite helpless in her sufferings. All we can offer is our comfort and our prayers.

Yesterday we received two wonderful African drums from Senegal after good help from a Kongolesian friend at the base. He bought them for African price... I and Marit had our first drum session on our room yesterday. At least one African smiled to us after listening to our drum beats. I take it as a compliment without asking too much about what the smile meant! We would still like to get some teaching while we are here.

We look forward to trip to Cape Town this weekend with our loving friends from England, Anna and Andrew. Hopefully I'll get a swin with the penguins and get to Cape Hope, the most southern point of Africa.

We have some problems with downloading pictures, hopefully we'll find a solution soon.

Love from Björn and Marit
