Animals and ministry

Dear friends,
because of lack of internet connection there has been no updates recently. I can tell you we are doing well as a team, all seven of us. On the 10th of January we left Mozambique with some challenges. The local taxi driver that was supposed to drive us from the village to the capital came to pick us up two hours late in the morning. The reason: he had fell asleep again... With a lot of prayers, frustration and a focused taxi driver, not always on the traffic rules though, we made it to get on the bus in Maputo just on time! The challenges didn't stop there, we also got problems on the border between Mozambique and South Africa. After a small bribe that we didn't realize until after we had paid, some African style talking ("My brother...") and a clap on the shoulder of the guard we managed to cross the border! God is faithful!
We had a wonderful time visiting two American missionaries in Nelspruit on the way to our next destination Middelburg. This gave us the opportunities to visit the Kruger National Park. We experienced it in two cars, a Land Cruiser and a VW Citi 1,4. You can say there are some differencies between them! I was so lucky to drive the Citi, the size of a Polo. After a while I needed to get the car in reverse and for the first time in my life I couldn't make it! The American missionary hade to step out of his Land Cruiser which is very illegal inside the park (you don't want to get eaten) and with a quick hand move, the car was in reverse. Embarassing! Beside this we had a terrific time in the park seeing water buffalos, elephants, a leopard, giraffes, crocodiles, sebras, water bucks, beautiful birds ++.

We have already been in Middelburg in South Africa for one and a half week now. This is a city of about 150000 inhabitants. We are having a good time here ministrying to three different churches so far. Until now we have had children ministries for up to 120 children in a poor area of the town. The children are much more disciplined and trustful here than in Mozambique. We have also been together with a pastor doing evangelism in homes and hospitals. A great experience to see people accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and the openness for prayer and evangelism in the society! Next week we will also ministry to a high school where we have a half an hour to present whatever we want. We have open doors!
